ABOUT KATIE

Katie serves as managing partner and counsel for the firm. She advocates for federal and state government objectives and pursues business-to-business opportunities for the firm’s clients.

Katie is a founding member of BSS Global. She focuses on connecting clients with opportunities for growth, provides strategic advice to better position clients in the marketplace, and helps clients navigate governmental and regulatory challenges.

Katie represents some of the world’s industry leaders, assisting their expansion to new markets and leading national advocacy campaigns. Initially hired for local lobbying and workforce development, Katie successfully grew her role nationwide with several of these industry leaders by learning the needs of these companies and offering solutions to some of their biggest challenges.

The COVID-19 pandemic demanded creative solutions in all industries and allowed talented individuals like Katie to develop business in other areas. Assisting with pandemic response efforts, she continued to expand her network and grow a robust national practice. Today, companies rely on Katie to provide solutions – where it be reestablishing relations with company external partners, assisting with site selection for new or expanding operations, identifying private and public funding opportunities, or advocating for legislative or regulatory change.

Prior to BSS Global, Katie served as the Board Attorney for Madison County, one of the largest and fastest-growing counties in Mississippi. In addition to representing the county’s legal interests, she drafted legislation and successfully directed state and federal advocacy efforts to address key local government concerns including an increase in fire millage, expanding county control of fire districts, and reforming ambulance regulations. Katie helped identify funding opportunities and worked with leadership to access funds for community projects. She also played an integral role in positioning the county to receive funds for large-scale infrastructure projects and represented the county in its application to the U.S. Department of Transportation for BUILD Transportation grant funding.

In addition to Madison County, Katie has represented many other counties and municipalities throughout Mississippi, advising mayors and city councils on infrastructure solutions and helping generate community support for those efforts. She also represents leaders in a variety of industries from retail to capital investment to disaster recovery. In 2019 and 2020, Katie received the Silver Client Champion award from Martindale-Hubbell recognizing her commitment to delivering excellent client service. Prior to opening her own law firm in 2016, Katie worked for one of the largest firms in the Southeast, specializing in products liability and civil rights defense. She successfully defended some of the top industry leaders in the United States. She is also an advocate for prison reform, participating in discussions from California to Washington, D.C.

Katie graduated from the University of Mississippi Law School with honors. She has served as a member of the Board of Directors for Ballet Mississippi, the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Mississippi, and the Southern Miss Central Mississippi Alumni Association, and is currently serving on the Madison County Business League & Foundation Board of Directors. Katie has been selected for Leadership Mississippi, named a Super Lawyers Mid-South Rising Star (2016-2020) and is AV-rated with Martindale-Hubble. She has also received the Top 50 Most Influential Award from the Mississippi Top 50 and was named as one of the Mississippi Business Journal’s Top 50 Business Women.
