A global business entrepreneur, Ian steers clients through the complexities of growing a business while navigating government and commercial policies across international markets.

Ian RH Tailyour is a Senior Adviser with BSS Global who advises clients about start-up and international business issues.

Now of Oxford, Mississippi, at age 26, Ian moved to Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam to start a furniture manufacturing and marketing company. He navigated governmental and commercial complexities to grow his business alongside the burgeoning Southeast Asia economic revitalization.

For 15 years, Ian lived in Ho Chi Minh City, where his successful furniture manufacturing business sold to companies such as Walmart, Williams-Sonoma, and Dillard’s, as well as firms located in Dubai, Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, South America and the Caribbean. He steered the business through the bureaucratic, personnel, language and financial complexities of a country then in the midst of a transition from a Communist-run centralized economy to a free market economy. He gained a vast reservoir of skills and experience in production and sales and in the general management of a large, complex business. Ian sold his company and returned to the U.S. in 2015.

Ian pursues business opportunities around the world with an eye to replicate the success he enjoyed in Viet Nam. He has travelled to more than 13 countries to pursue business and marketing opportunities, including Cuba, Morocco and Uzbekistan. He participated in five trade missions with Governor Phil Bryant for the State of Mississippi.

A dual citizen of Great Britain and the U.S., Ian studied at Norwalk College in Connecticut, at the University of Virginia, and at SGS Social Accountability 8000 Hong Kong. An avid adventurer and sailor with expertise in navigation, Ian has participated in numerous sailboat races and regattas in the South China Sea and the Gulfs of Thailand and Mexico.
